Communication between members of a similar group or even between disparate groups indicates spiritual development.
The ways in which this is done also determine the evolution of a community.
From screams and sings on the first people, like cave drawings.
All of these are simplistic ways of communicating, but they show us their evolution.
If we agree with Spielberg’s fiction in the film “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, we can accept that music, as an expression of art, is at the top of the evolution of communication.
In a conservative Greece in the 80s, looking for a new identity, the only way to communicate and get established were some lyrics and music.
Some might be tempted to like new musical paths and discover some Secret Gardens music.
Secret Gardens
Mistikoi Kipoi (Secret Gardens) is the debut album of the Lefki Symfonia band and the opening song of the album.
Its music belongs to the whole band and the lyrics to the band’s singer Thodoris Dimitriou.
“The song, which is also one of the first Greek-language songs we wrote, started from the Diogenes bass line in one of our daily rehearsals in the Forest of Haidari.”
The frontman of the band tells us about the beginning of the song’s creation.
Life is a staircase, which we climb while at the same time building it.
Sometimes songs follow this process.
“It was a really distinct rhythmic-melodic figure that riveted and inspired us all.
Spyros (Spyros Charisis – drums) started building the rhythmic part on the drums and Takis (Takis Barbagalas – guitar) added the atmospheric guitars.
I started singing and adjusting the melody of the voice, I had already written the lyrics, and I felt they fit in with the emotions that the music was causing me. “
The song gives the listener a sense of indefinable sadness, like a distant cry from a hidden room.
It was as if it came out of the strange atmosphere of the beginning of F. H. Burnett’s classic “The Secret Garden“, but without its happy ending.
“It was a song that took you straight into the band’s inner world …
To the souls of the four members, and revealed some of the messages that would be found throughout the almost lyrical and musical creation of Lefki Simfonia …
Loneliness, expectation, absence ” Thodoris concludes.
This song seemed to set the band’s sound for the rest of their career.
This composition was essentially a band’s card, both lyrically and melodically.
Foggy musical landscapes, in which the listener can wander, but without fear of being lost.
It’s like being in a maze of a garden, looking for the rarest flower.
