The official book for the 50th anniversary of the most important rock festival is expected to be released on 07/23/2019 by the creator and founder Michael Lang.
This is a large, illustrated version which includes hundreds of photos and documents accompanied by Lang’s exciting memories, including those of:
- Jimi Hendrix,
- The Who,
- Crosby,
- Stills Nash & Young,
- Richie Havens,
- Creedence Clearwater Revival,
- Santana,
- Janis Joplin,
- Joan Baez,
- Sha-Na-Na,
- Joe McDonald and
- Grateful Dead.
The book will include all of Lang’s record, from event plans, mail, artist fee information, and much more.
This wealth of information is accompanied by the best photos of the event by unknown and famous photographers such as:
- Ralph Ackerman,
- John Dominis,
- Bill Eppridge,
- Dan Garson,
- Barry Z. Levine,
- Ken Regan,
- Lee Marshall,
- Baron Wolman and mostly by
- Henry Diltz’s record.
Diltz was the only official photographer in Woodstock being there for two weeks. He began to photograph an empty cow farm until the moment the crowd began gathering.
Woodstock is an intense mass that conveys the vision, the hard work, and the fleeting magic that consisted of “three days of peace and music.”
