In the first part, we dealt with dispelling the myth of the death of Mama Cass of The Mamas and the Papas.
Now we have found another myth that not only didn’t know about it, but we were not sure if it really existed.
This is a rumor that circulated and concerned the one and only Jimi Hendrix.

Jimi Hendrix and the London Parakeets
As strange and/or unlikely as it may seem to you (and us too), there is one of the many myths circulating in London about green parakeets.
Among them is one that mentions Hendrix. According to the specific myth, the nicest green parakeets were released by the guitarist himself in London.
The legend wants Hendrix to release a pair of parakeets, Adam and Eve, while he was wandering on Carnaby Street after a long day (and full of opiates).
According to some fans of the guitarist, Hendrix did this as a symbol of peace.
In fact, Hendrix, knowing that this is a species that has basically reproduced since 1805 in captivity, wanted to be free and become a “bird of peace.”
Of course, this is not only not the case, but it has been overthrown by science itself.
In particular, a recent study found that the most probable cause for the arrival of these small birds in Britain was the Great Storm of 1987.
It was the morning of October 16, 1987, when an unusually strong storm from the Bay of Biscay swept across southern England.
In the south-east of England, the worst damage was recorded, with gusts of 70 knots (130 km / h, 81 mph) lasting for more than three consecutive hours.
Strong winds led many birds to flee to London in an attempt to escape.
However, we have a question that also concerns Greece, as, since 2018, Athens has also been filled with these beautiful parakeets.
Do you think a Greek guitarist wanted to do the same as Hendrix???
Yes or no, myth or reality, what matters is that many animals would be wonderful to live freely and not be confined to tiny cages.
