The more the sea is stirred by the wave, the more it becomes cloudy, but it always remains salty.
How it sounds
As if Progressive metal mutated into metalcore, but something went wrong, just like in the movie “The Fly”.
Essentially like metalcore, but with a lot of djent or Progressive metal with core vocals.
Why listen to it
It is very technical, fresh and the musicians of the genre know from music.
Why not
It has no feeling. It is consumed in a demonstration of technique and core brays but without a trace of anger.
Where we meet it
The USA.
When did it start
From the mid-90s, the first samples of this sound began to be seen/heard.
The first bands with exclusivity in the genre started in 2000.
Who are the pioneers
After the Burial are considered pioneers of the genre, as are Erra.
Also “I, the Breather“, For Today, and Born of Osiris.
You have to listen
Carcer City, Northlane, Invent Animate, I Am Noah, Volumes, Architects, August Burns Red, Periphery, Polaris.
Days of glory
From the middle of the 10’s, new very remarkable bands are created and the existing ones have a lot of recognition with their new works.
The metal guy who deals with metal promotes the bands of the genre a lot.
Red card
An over-the-top genre that seems to fit into purely American music standards, but also into the American mentality.
Too technical.
What is it confused with
With Metalcore, Deathcore, Mathcore, Djent
How do you describe it to an irrelevant
Some guys with a lot of tattoos braying something American, but they have a very good guitarist.
