By talking about dragons, we are essentially symbolizing a fictional debate.
Which defines meaningless references to non-existent beings or a non-existent reality.
Maybe they might be comments on some Tolkin or Martin novel.
Although there are some studies that want to prove their existence, they are rejected by the scientific community.
Yet for a nerd, all this is sacrilege. Because for them dragons exist!
Definitely in some mythical worlds of role-playing games, but they exist.
Metal fans can also claim the same thing. For them, dragons are in the songs they love.
