Who said that little kids can’t rock?

Whenever such news is heard at R1 Vibes, our joy can not be described!

It is extremely interesting to read that in different cities of the world, there are academies, schools, universities that teach rock music to kids.

Especially since the kids aged between 4-7 will learn how to rock!

In this case, the venture is accredited to Dave Simon, who is trying to set up Rock schools.

Of course, the lessons are tailored for younger students with songs that have clearer lyrics, simple chords and easy to learn rhythm and melody.

According to Rebecca Lowe, director of Centerstage Academy, “What we are doing is giving them a good, positive foundation to find their passion and follow it in more detail.”

The lessons

Students take lessons in which they learn to play the drums, the guitar, the piano and they have the opportunity to sing.

Instead of having to choose a single instrument, they have the opportunity to experiment with a variety.

The instruments provided are made for smaller hands, which helps them learn more easily how to feel comfortable with a musical instrument as they grow older.

The program lasts as long as students and parents want because students prepare for small shows every three months and for larger ones in between.

Lowe noted that smaller shows help students gain confidence both on stage and in front of the public.

“In general, their brains are still developing and shaping and music is a great way to make all these little synapses that help them later in life.

So students who learn to play an instrument will now reap the benefits for the rest of their lives – even if not in a musical sense, at least in brain development,” she noted.

“Beyond that, we hope that they will be able to use music in different ways. Like developing social skills, developing a group and using music to express themselves.”
