Sixty years after its first appearance, digital music services are beginning to realize that Heavy Metal has the most fanatical listeners.
I read various studies and surveys, but this one, I admit, it was fun!
Let’s see what the Greek music sites reported…
They say that Spotify presented charts showing in detail how the heavy metal is number one in streaming airwaves.
The research was supposed to show what kind of music has the most devoted listeners.
You can’t say that this is a discovery, to be honest, because those of us dealing with metal, we know well that it’s a music that cannot be borne out by all, but those who are initiated, they never leave.
I will not say that was not useful research, but somehow pointless!
The reason is clear! Over the past sixty years, as wikipedia says, heavy metal has fans across the globe.
The first bands of the genre, such as Black Sabbath, still attract a wider audience today. In the mid-1970s, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and many other bands evolved the genre, eliminating the blues elements, while New Wave of British Heavy Metal followed the same road, giving a punk rock sound and more emphasis on speed.
So simple!
Meanwhile Spotify, on the other hand, says that “To create a measure of faith and devotion by type of music, the numbers of streams that each core artist gathered based on the number of his listeners separated.
Ok … if Spotify says so!
For the record, I would like to mention that what’s being reported, a while ago, by Greek sites, concerns a 2015 research that was made and published for the first time at noisey.vice.com!
