(known as Art metal and metalgaze)
Man has the ability to see only that which is at the same vibrational velocity of matter as himself.
How it sounds
Like the Percussionist taking notes in bed to lengthen them.
Basically as Progressive Metal with lower speeds, fewer tempo changes, and with more Ambient atmosphere in the compositions.
Why listen to it
Because women like it so much! The music of the genre is atmospheric and of high quality.
Why not
Pulled chords, as if crawling from the speakers and repetitions of the same musical motifs.
Where we meet it
Mainly in USA and UK
When did it start
From the mid-’90s
Who are the pioneers
As early as the beginning of the decade, some musicians laid the foundations for the genre.
The Melvins with their third album “Bullhead”, The Flying Luttenbachers of Weasel Walter, and Godflesh of Justin Broadrick with “Pure” album (1992).
Neurosis‘s 3rd album “Souls at Zero” in 1992 is also considered a milestone.
Other pioneers of the genre are Isis, Boris, Pelican, Jesu, and Wolves in the Throne Room. Although they often use the weight of Doom, they also use a combination of Shoegazing and Black Metal.
You have to listen
Cult of Luna, Year of No Light, Amenra, Russian Circles, Harakiri for the Sky, Ghost Bath, Latitudes, Light Bearer, Fall Of Efrafa, Entopia, Germ.
.
Days of glory

Red card
Although musicians of the genre have the disposition to experiment and the musical ability to achieve it, many times only they themselves understand what they are playing.
There is essentially no proper balance between artistic expression and the needs of the public.
What is it confused with
Experimental, Post-rock, Blackgaze, Avant-garde Metal, Doom Metal. Stunts intensely between Black Metal and Sludge.
How do you describe it to an irrelevant
It’s some people that, play metal, but they do not look like metalheads!
On the one hand, they sound well into their playing, and on the other, it is as if they fell asleep on stage, along with their musical instruments.
Also, they do not talk much.
