One of the most beautiful and certainly intelligent mammals on our planet are the dolphins.
At a time when disasters are increasingly common, these animals are becoming more and more endangered.
The human factor is responsible for their near extinction and specifically as reported by WWF:
- Accidental or intentional killing in nets,
- Oil pollution,
- Infection from the accumulation of artificial chemicals in their tissues,
- The annoyance from yachts,
- Climate change,
- Noise pollution (e.g. from military exercises and seismic activities to locate hydrocarbons or boat propellers),
- The overall degradation of the marine ecosystem and
- The reduction of available food,
They threaten all species of dolphins and lead in the long term to the reduction of their populations.
” If the dolphin population decreases, it will irretrievably disrupt the marine food chain along with the entire balance of the marine ecosystem.”
More simply, we cannot wait for others to do something to keep this beautiful animal alive, we must all act together!
Music, as another catalyst, is trying to awaken.
And although we don’t have many songs dedicated to dolphins, even a few good ones are capable of making a difference.
