MelodSongs are like little books. They tell us stories or even create the story itself.
Personal, every day, fantastic or even real stories.
Emotions, thoughts, and ideas, and all these are in one song.
Some notes, a similar tempo, and a few verses can give birth to such a small book… maybe even regenerate.
The wonderful “Exposito” of Greek Roundlights is their second album. There is a song in this, entitled “Swinging Soul Therap”
This was chosen by Panagiotis, the singer of the band, to reveal the story behind it.
“This particular track has existed in an instrumental version since 2012… It had somehow become the introductory part for the gigs “.
Panagiotis TAk Giannako begins the narration of the song.
Its story actually begins a year later.
The source of inspiration… Pain
“In December 2013, Nasos (drummer) had a serious accident with his motorcycle.
He was in repression (with hematomas on his head, surgeries and generally in a very difficult phase) for 3 weeks … “, the singer continues.
But pain is not only a source of consciousness but also a source of inspiration.
“It was a very difficult period for us and in the midst of it all one day I started writing the lyrics of that song.”
In the end, music not only gives birth to beauty but sometimes also regenerates, as a miracle for the uninitiated or a simple consequence for its lovers.
“When Nasos overcame the whole issue (miraculously as the doctors said) the lyrics stuck with the already existing track and so we had a double “rebirth”
Nasos realized it long after that the track is for the specific incident and also for him…. ”
However, its title also has some symbolisms, which hide or reveal (essentially these two concepts are confused or coexist) its entire history.
“The song (as is usual among the members of the band), without initially having a title, we called it “Swing”, due to the rhythmic part …
Sometimes we also call Nasos Soul and basically as I mentioned before the lyrics and the final form of the song were written during Nasos’ recovery …
Hence the Swinging Soul Therapy”
As it turns out, the Muse is always present when an artistic hand wants to match words and notes.
To match important events of everyday life, all the touches of life, light and dark in one painting.
This painting can also be melodic in the form of a song.
