Obviously there are many ways to honor one of the most historic bands of the Rock music scene.
The English, of course, have a special way of doing it…
For those who know the British culture, such an “honor” move was expected.
The Royal Mail celebrates Queen’s 50th anniversary by issuing a very special series of stamps for their honor.
A total of 13 different stamp designs of the band will be available on the official website of the “Royal Post Offices” before their official release, which is Thursday 9 July.

The anniversary edition will include eight album covers of the Queen, namely:
- Queen II (1974),
- Sheer Heart Attack (1974),
- A Night At The Opera (1975),
- News of the World (1977),
- The Game (1980),
- Greatest Hits (1981),
- The Works (1984) and
- Innuendo (1991).
At the same time, four stamps will be issued from:
- Mercury’s live performance at Wembley Stadium in 1986,
- Roger Taylor at Hyde Park in 1976,
- John Deacon on stage at Odeon Hammersmith in 1975 and
- Brian May at the Népstadion in Budapest in 1986.
The stamp collection concludes the legendary photo of Queen taken by Johnny Dewe Mathews.
It should be called to mind that at the beginning of the year Queen became the first band with an official commemorative collection of coins issued by the Royal Mint.
