It is well known that the success of a business requires an easily recognizable logo, but simple and appropriate.
The same goes for bands. They need something easily recognizable and simple.
Of course, in many cases, this simplicity in design also leads to sloppiness.
Sloppiness that surpasses even that of a teenager in a textbook.
On the other hand, there are some logos that have a strange complexity, which even a pharmacist cannot read.
There are also some logos that remind us of a failed attempt to create a new artistic current and/or movement.
Maybe they should give a little extra money to a graphic designer or fire the one they have.
To support our opinion, see the following logos to understand what we mean…
Borknagar
When a Black Metal band has nothing to say, they want to do something like a bear trimming its fingernails.
But in the case of Borknagar, that is not the case, as it is a band that has a lot to say.
Of course, the choice of such a complex logo by such an important band is a bit strange.
Looks like the logo of a bored kid trying to fill his time in a religious class (?).
Phish
Another strong proof that the quality of a band does not match their logo.
An extremely rough job!
With the fish-shaped rainbow reminiscent of something designed in WordArt, by someone who is now learning the functions of his computer.
Apart from that, we should note that “Phish” looks like “his”.
Death
When you do not care about your image, but only your melodies, you get Death!
A logo made only for the fans of the historical band and this is because at the sight of the graphic designers fall into depression.
Asymmetric with outlined lines that only metalheads recognize.
Anyway, this is a historical or maybe cult metal logo!
Staind
Although Staind has given us many melodic masterpieces, their logo is like a test of myopia.
Sting, Stind, String… what to write? The basic vowel is not even visible. It is difficult to read and is very hard on the eyes.
Therefore, their music is beautiful, but from graphic design, cry – cry, my baby!
Dave Matthews Band
We still wonder what a headless dancer can have to do with music!
Great music by Dave Matthews Band, but the logo is reminiscent of something else…
Maybe we could see such a logo in a strip club, rather than in a rock band!
