Το “In the End” είναι το όγδοο και τελευταίο στούντιο άλμπουμ από τους The Cranberries, το οποίο αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει στις 26 Απριλίου από την BMG. Είναι η πρώτη κυκλοφορία του συγκροτήματος από το θάνατο της τραγουδίστριας Dolores O’Riordan.

Ο κιθαρίστας Noel Hogan και η O’Riordan άρχισαν να συνθέτουν τραγούδια για το άλμπουμ ενώ ήταν σε περιοδεία τον Μάρτιο του 2017. Το συγκρότημα δεν κατάφερε να ολοκληρώσει τις εμφανίσεις του, εξαιτίας της αρρώστιας της O’Riordan. Τον Ιούνιο, ο Hogan πέρασε το χρόνο στη Γαλλία γράφοντας και στέλνοντας τα demos του στην O’Riordan στη Νέα Υόρκη για να προσθέσει στίχους, καταφέρνοντας να ολοκληρώσουν 11 τραγούδια μέχρι το θάνατό της στις 15 Ιανουαρίου.

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί πως η O’Riordan, έστειλε τους τελευταίους στίχους στο Hogan λίγες ώρες πριν πεθάνει.

Τα υπόλοιπα μέλη του συγκροτήματος, έχοντας την πλήρη στήριξη της οικογένειας της O’Riordan, έφεραν την Stephen Street – η οποία παρήγαγε αρκετά από τα πρώιμα άλμπουμ τους – για να ολοκληρώσουν τις ηχογραφήσεις, χρησιμοποιώντας τεχνολογικά μέσα αναπαραγωγής και επεξεργασίας της φωνής της Dolores.

Για την ολοκλήρωση των φωνητικών χρειάστηκε η προσθήκη της υποστηρικτικής τραγουδίστριας Johanna Cranitch, η οποία είχε περιοδεύσει με τη μπάντα το 2012. Τον Οκτώβριο του 2018, οι ηχογραφήσεις ολοκληρώθηκαν, και ένα μήνα πριν ο Noel Hogan ενημέρωσε το κοινό πως οι Cranberries θα διαλύσουν μετά την κυκλοφορία του “In the End”.

Το Alternative rock, και όλος ο μουσικός κόσμος, αποχαιρετούν ένα από τα σημαντικότερα συγκροτήματα όλων των εποχών…

The Cranberries – In the End

“In The End” is the eighth and final studio album by the Cranberries, which is expected to be released on April 26 by BMG. It is the first release of the band since the death of singer Dolores O’Riordan.

Guitarist Noel Hogan and O’Riordan began composing songs for the album while on tour in March 2017. The band failed to finish their appearances due to O’Riordan’s illness. In June, Hogan spent the year in France writing and sending his demos to O’Riordan in New York to add lyrics, managing to finish 11 songs until her death on January 15th.

It is noteworthy that O’Riordan sent the final lyrics to Hogan a few hours before she dies.

The rest of the band, having the full support of the O’Riordan family, brought Stephen Street – who produced quite a few of their early albums – to complete recordings, using technological means of reproduction and processing of Dolores’ voice.

To complete the vocals required the addition of supporting singer Johanna Cranitch, who had toured with the band in 2012

In October 2018, the recordings were completed, and one month earlier Noel Hogan informed the public that the Cranberries would disband after the release of In the End.

Alternative rock, like the whole music world, say farewell to one of the most important bands of all time …
